Members of Treetops Spiritual Support Team will read poems, share thoughts and offer a moment of quiet reflection via online meeting platform Zoom, on Thursday, March 11 at 6.30pm.
Called ‘Time To Remember’, the virtual session will last for 20 minutes and participants can submit the names of loved ones to appear on screen, too.
All those on a grief journey are invited to come along and reflect
Malcolm Brown, a volunteer in Treetops Spiritual Support Team, said:
“It is the second session we have run of this nature and it’s basically an opportunity for people to share a moment and to remember loved ones and good friends who have died, whatever your faith or belief.
“It doesn’t matter if that person died recently or a long time ago, and whatever caused the death, but all those on a grief journey are invited to come along and reflect.
Quality time to remember a loved one
“We all acknowledge that this has been a difficult 12 months, not least for all those who have experienced the death of a loved one. It has been even more difficult for those who were unable to be with those special people at such an important time and, for many, not being able to attend the funeral service was tough.
“Of course, grief isn’t restricted only to those who have been bereaved during the past year; all of us have to face the death of a loved one during our lifetime. In fact, some people seem to experience this far too often.
“Treetops is providing an occasion when we can set aside some quality time to remember these special people.
“No-one can make grief easier but we hope that, by spending this time together, we can all be encouraged and supported in some small way.”
