The words 'thank you' don't seem enough to express our gratitude to you and the other trades who came together as part of DIY SOS Big Build for BBC Children in Need to build and furnish our children’s bereavement centre.
Your efforts mean that thousands of local children and young people have a place of comfort and support while they grieve. A place they can share, and start to understand, their feelings.
Ways you can stay involved
Treecycling Vans and Volunteers
In early January, in return for a donation we collect and dispose of people’s real Christmas trees.
This scheme relies on the support of local business and organisation, to donate their vans, tippers, lorries with a driver and ideally a driver’s mate. Each team is given a route that they travel picking up trees and then dropping them off at a central point. The trees are then disposed of in a sustainable manner such as biomass or chippings.
Donating your expertise, time, materials, and resources.
From putting a door in to link two rooms, replacing our boardwalks, creating a café counter area for our wellbeing café - we know that we can make these changes quicker if we can benefit from your continued expertise and support. We appreciate sometimes when we ask you may not be able to help, but knowing we have a friend who is happy for us to contact them is fantastic.
Sponsoring an event or service
Our marketing and fundraising activities offer businesses a way of reaching hundreds and thousands of local people. You may like to fund our information booklets for patients and families, partner an event like the Moonlight Walk, our annual Super Draw or Light up a Life Appeal; or champion those who take part in a challenge event for us. No matter your budget we will have a sponsorship package that suites you.
Fundraising for Treetops
You can take a collecting tin, have a bake sale or hold a raffle; climb Everest, skydive or run the Derby 10k. We have lots of ways that you and your colleagues can raise money for Treetops and our team are here to support you.
Volunteering your own time
Treetops is what it is because individuals give their time to help as befrienders, with our wellbeing service, in our shops, as receptionists, and helping behind the scenes with our marketing and fundraising. Your help in this way means we can care for more people.
Staying in touch
We’d love to keep in touch, occasionally sharing news, activities, and opportunities to donate resource and expertise and to fundraise. This means you will have the opportunity to tell us what you are interested in and how you would like to become involved.
Donations are accepted by Treetops Hospice without restriction.
