By choosing to volunteer with us, you’ll be making a difference to the lives of the patients and families we support in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. Thank you!

We have created a monthly grounds and maintenance programme for businesses and community organisations that would like to offer support to us through group volunteering.

We have the experience in developing partnerships to help you meet your Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) objectives of providing meaningful volunteering or team away days at our beautiful hospice site in Risley.

Group Volunteering:

We have created a monthly grounds and maintenance programme for groups of people from businesses and community organisations.  This is held on a Tuesday (9.30am – 3.30pm/4pm).

A member of our team will host your day providing a warm welcome and tour of the hospice. Refreshments of homemade cakes, soft drinks, tea and coffee will be available throughout the day. Each volunteer will receive a welcome pack including a T-shirt.

Group size:

Our volunteering day is designed for groups of eight people.

Regrettably we cannot host larger groups, instead you can make two bookings a year apart, or contact us to see if you can add people to a waiting list (they may have the opportunity to join a company with less than eight people) or to ask about other volunteering opportunities. If you have fewer people please contact us, as we can try to match you with another company who has also has small group.

Tasks

Some tasks may include:

  • Clearing low-level gutters of leaves and debris
  • Clearing car park drains of leaves and debris
  • Power washing the patio and walkways
  • Washing and valeting the two cars
  • General upkeep of grounds – sweep, clear leaf litter, etc.
  • Painting/varnishing the benches/sheds
  • Clearing/tidying the boiler house and sheds

Details we need from you:

Once you completed the form (below), we will contact you to confirm details. At this time, we will ask for the full name of each person in the group and confirm  the contact details of the group leader, who should be the primary contact for the arrangements.

Insurance:
Treetops Public Liability Policy includes corporate/ group volunteers (£ 10 million cover).
