Bereavement Training and Workshops
Training for healthcare, education and social care professionals.
This 1-day training covers key concepts associated with bereavement and loss and aims to prepare and equip participants with the necessary knowledge and awareness to support the bereaved in a range of contexts.
We encourage prospective participants to consider their own experience of loss and how this training might affect them. We advise that this training may be unsuitable for anyone who has suffered a recent significant personal loss or bereavement.
The topics covered include:
- Definitions of loss, bereavement and grief
- Signs and symptoms of grief and bereavement
- An exploration of current grief models
- Appreciating the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic
- Understanding traumatic bereavement
- Identifying complicated grief
- Supporting children and young people
- Managing the impact of bereavement work on oneself
